Student Application & Interview Information

Application Opportunities:

Standard Program Application (Spring Selection)

This is the main application window for getting in to MECOP. The application window for Spring applicants is typically Mid February through the end of March.

How to Apply

Accepting applications starting: February 10th, 2025 (opens at 12am)
Application deadline: April 6th, 2025 - end of day (midnight)

Eligible Disciplines

Click on the links below to view general information about each discipline eligible for this application. All disciplines must fill out the application form (button above) to be considered.

Application Review Process

Once the application window closes, all applicants will be pre-screened by university advising staff. They will confirm applicants attending their institution are in good academic standing and meet GPA, coursework, and other academic requirements for program participation.

After the academic pre-screen, if there are too many candidates remaining for a given academic discipline, a cap will be placed on the number interviews granted. Candidates in this scenario will be rank ordered based on the date and time their application was submitted. Candidates that apply early will be given higher priority in this situation. If a cutoff is not needed for the discipline, all candidates in that group that passed the pre-screen will be interviewed.

Once the screening process is completed, all applicants will receive an email stating whether or not they have been granted an interview.

Supplemental Applications

Supplemental applications are opened on a case-by-case basis when MECOP needs additional interns not brought in during the standard application process. Applicants in their Junior or Senior year will be considered for acceptance. If accepted and placed on an internship, applicants can expect to go on an internship in the coming internship year (2025).

  • A list of standard internship timeframes can be found here: Internship Timeframes. Timeframes are based around the school terms at your university (ex: Spring-Summer internships would start after spring break).
    • Please note that by default MECOP will assume you are going on a Junior internship (per the listed internship timeframes). If you need to have an alternate timeframe due to your current course schedule, please reach out to the MECOP Office after completing your application so we can update your record accordingly.
